If you are looking to jump start your vehicle then this is a must as without it if you carry out the jump start you could blow the engine computer or worse!
It plugs easily into the engine cigarette lighter of your vehicle and the display pivots so you can change the angle for easy viewing.
We recommend that you pick this up with our #1 jump starter pick which is the Clore Automotive JNC660 Jump Starter and then you can use it without having to worry about blowing the engine computer.

The LCD screen of the Equus 3721 will display the measured voltage and has a bar graph to show you battery charge level and also has a color coded LED which will allows you to see the battery charge status.
The battery monitor will also show the voltage value with .01 precision and that is more than enough for you to tell you the status of the battery. When you plug it into the cigarette lighter of the car it will automatically switch between “battery status monitoring” to “charging status monitoring” and if the engine is switched off it will go into battery status monitoring.
With the engine running you can quickly see the status of the battery with the LED light. You will see green for a normal functioning electrical system, amber where there is a marginal power loss and red if the battery is discharging.
Using the voltmeter on the Equus battery and charging system you will be able to see a digital readout and that will give you the exact voltage in the electrical system. From this you will be able to spot possible alternator problems or a failing battery which will be indicated if the volts are low and as mentioned above an amber or red light.
As well as all that info you will be able to see a battery icon on the display that will tell you the total battery charge.
Conclusion:
The Equus 3721 Battery And Charging System Monitor is ESSENTIAL to have before you jump start a vehicle. The reason for this is so that you can monitor the changes in the engine and not overload the electrical system. If you are trying to save money at the garage by jump starting your car you could do more harm than good without one of these.

The picture on Amazon site is not correct. This battery monitor shows the voltage value with .01 precision (or two digits after decimal point). That is far more then enough to tell the battery status. I put it in the car, it automatically switches between “battery status monitoring” and “charging status monitoring”. When the engine is stopped, it is in “battery status monitoring mode”, when engine is running, it will be in “charging status monitoring” mode. Read More…

Seemingly just another auto gadget fortunately the Equus 3721 is more sophisticated than its ponderous description. A breeze to connect to any car’s 12 Volt electrical system. Simply push into the lighter socket or an auxiliary power outlet now found in many newer vehicles.
With the engine running the instrument constantly displays battery condition with an LED light; amber when marginal, red if the battery is discharging. A green light indicates a correctly functioning electrical system. All is well with both battery and, most importantly, the alternator.
The Equus is also an accurate voltmeter. Digital read-outs give exact voltage in the electrical system. Potential alternator problems or a failing battery will be indicated by below normal voltages, plus an amber or red light. Extra information is a battery icon graphically showing total battery charge. Tending towards erratic read-outs, and therefore unreliability, it is not the unit’s best feature. Read More…
